2022 Domaine Naturaliste Discovery Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River

Jam-packed with regional and varietal aromas and flavours, so this is instantly appealing. Still in its primary phase, with blackberries, currants and mulberries, no new oak used, but there’s still plenty of cedary oak spice at play, plus mint, bay leaves and dark chocolate studded with licorice. Full bodied, with ripe, velvety tannins, this offers terrific drinking at a good price. Ready now or will age with ease. Drink to 2035.

Beautiful, pristine flavour, mulberry and boysenberry, a note of sweet tobacco, maybe a hint of fig, effortless drinking, pure, fruity with dark chocolate tannins, all very fine. Lovely wine, well-priced too.

This wine hails from the moderate growing season, with Margaret River enjoying an at-large trouble-free harvest across all varieties. The 2022 is an 85/10/5-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot, with the parcels of fruit fermented separately and matured for twelve months in seasoned French oak barrels.
