2022 Domaine Naturaliste Floris Chardonnay, Margaret River

At first, this seems shy and even light on, but don’t hurry this – it unfurls beautifully. It will show off some stone fruit and citrus, spice and a hint of oak with a light layer of textural, moreish lees. Mouth-watering acidity leads the charge across the palate and leaves the finish clean and fresh. Nice one.

This Macon-styled Chardonnay is a picture of elegance and refinement with it's gentle layers of citrus, nougat and florals with a well placed whisper of oak. Freshness is the key with a linear, modern citrus and floral accented palate, lifted by a nice touch of grip to finish.

Floris is a modern and engaging expression of Margaret River local clone into wine. This style is a coevolution of Modern Australian food and wine culture, which has great emphasis on balance, freshness and hedonistic pleasure.

Floris exhibits delicate textures and floral notes reminiscent of white jasmine flowers. The acidity is energising and the palate superbly penetrative and lingering.

The sustainably farmed vineyard is in the cool southern end of Margaret River.
