Taking on a darker ruby hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir Wester Reach brings forward woodsy spice aromas, with notes of fresh cherries, pine, and peppery spices. Approachable on the palate, it offers ripe tannins, a supple texture, and a nice lift of freshness on the finish. It is a charmer for sure and is going to offer a wide drinking window over the coming 10-12 years. Bottled unfiltered, 4500 cases were produced. Drink 2024-2036

On the nose, Wester Reach opens with an enticing mix of dark cherry, red plum, crushed raspberry, and hints of blood orange. Beneath the fruit lies a savoury core of rose petal, thyme, and wet stone. The palate is medium-bodied but tightly coiled, showing DuMOL’s signature tension and freshness. There’s both amplitude and refinement, with silky tannins, judicious oak influence, and a finish that hums with minerality and lifted spice.

This is classic Russian River Pinot with a modern edge—made for those who value clarity, purity of fruit, and balance. It’s incredibly versatile at the table, pairing beautifully with duck breast, wild mushroom dishes, or a rich beetroot and goat’s cheese salad.
