Floral, as is typical of this estate, with crunchy red fruit and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied, with a blanket of delicate, tender fruit defined by chalky, precise yet silky tannins. Drinkable now with proper aeration, but will improve with some bottle age.

The Vajra family have become one of Piedmont's most admired custodians of traditional Barolo, with Aldo Vajra and his children producing wines that combine elegance, authenticity and a profound respect for the vineyards of the Langhe. Their gentle approach in both vineyard and cellar has earned the estate worldwide acclaim for Nebbiolo of purity and finesse.
Coste di Rose is one of Barolo's most distinctive crus, sitting on the southern edge of the commune of Barolo where cool exposures and calcareous marl soils produce wines of fragrance, precision and remarkable elegance. Named for the wild roses that flourish around the vineyard, it is renowned for its lifted aromatics, silky structure and graceful ageing potential.
The colour is a brilliant garnet red with youthful ruby highlights. Aromas of rose petals, wild strawberry and red cherry are layered with orange peel, sweet spice and hints of dried herbs. The palate is beautifully refined, combining vibrant red fruits with finely woven tannins and bright acidity. Notes of tar, cedar and crushed stone emerge with time in the glass, leading to a long, savoury finish that perfectly captures the finesse of this celebrated cru.
Magnificent with truffle risotto, roast duck, braised veal cheeks or porcini mushroom pappardelle. While captivating with a generous decant today, this is a Barolo built to evolve gracefully through the 2040s and beyond.
