Here too moderate wood is present on the ripe and agreeably fresh aromas of poach plum, black cherry and ample amounts of earth influence. The delicious and again beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors also retain excellent delineation on the youthfully austere and rustic finish that is very well-balanced. This won't win any awards for refinement but it is a fine Nuits villages that should repay up to a decade of keeping even if it could be approached after only 5-ish years.

1.30 ha mostly from Charbonnières with additions from Longecourts, Maladières, Fleurières, which are all in the southern portion of the appellation, vinified with 40% whole clusters.

Gérard Julien Nuits-Saint-Georges is a classic expression of the Côte de Nuits, offering all the structure, depth and earthy charm that define this storied village. Crafted by Etienne Julien, the rising star behind this family-run domaine in Comblanchien, the wine reflects a commitment to organic farming and low-intervention winemaking that brings out the character of both site and vintage.

Sourced from village-level parcels near Comblanchien and Premeaux-Prissey, this Nuits-Saint-Georges shows the village’s signature power, but with a finesse that speaks to Etienne’s thoughtful touch. Fermented with wild yeasts, aged in mostly used oak barrels, and bottled without fining or filtration, it’s a wine that respects its origins without being dressed up.

In the glass, expect black cherry, dark raspberry, violets, and hints of forest floor and spice. The palate is structured yet supple, with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a mineral-driven core that adds persistence and complexity. It’s both serious and inviting — a wine that captures the essence of Nuits without needing to shout.

Perfect with dishes like roast duck, beef bourguignon, or lentil and mushroom cassoulet. While drinking well young with some air, it will develop gracefully over 7 to 10 years.
