Intense flowery aromas, dried grass and dried flowers, pot-pourri, lemon and subtle tropical fruits. The palate is fruity and full, juicy and not overly dry but certainly finishes dry, the texture full and pulpy with a tickle of tannin adding grip. The philosophy at Helm Wines is that wine making is an art not a science. The winemaker is the custodian of the grape and has the potential to create a masterpiece. They strive to produce premium quality wines that reflect the true characteristics of the grape and the land or ‘terroir’ in which they have been grown.
Classic Dry Riesling is made from grapes sourced from the Helm estate and neighbouring vineyards within the valley in which the Helm winery is situated. The Helm estate vineyard contains the oldest Riesling vines in the Canberra district planted in 1974. This is Helm Wines' 46th Riesling vintage and is Ken Helm's 77th year.
The 2022 Classic Dry Riesling displays aromatic, fresh citrus aroma. Clean, fresh, palate of lime cordial and lifted flavours are balanced by soft acidity. Lingering refreshing finish.'Like all Ken Helm Rieslings this wine can be paired with numerous dishes, being especially complementary with Asian cuisine and seafood.
Built to last, The 2022 Helm Clasic Dry Riesling can be enjoyed while young and drisp. Cellar 10+ years which wil alloow it to develop mellow and toasty lime cordial flavours.
