Known for his uncompromising pursuit of complexity, texture, and depth in dry Riesling, Löwenstein crafts this wine from a specific section of the Uhlen vineyard—Blaufüsser Lay—named after its distinctive blue-grey slate soils.

These ancient Devonian slates give the wine a cool, stony tension that contrasts beautifully with the ripe fruit and wild herbal nuances characteristic of Heymann-Löwenstein’s style. The vines are grown on dangerously steep terraces overlooking the Mosel River, farmed organically and harvested by hand with fastidious attention to detail. Spontaneous fermentation in large old barrels and extended lees aging contribute to the wine's profound texture and aromatic complexity.

In the glass, Uhlen Blaufüsser Lay GG is smoky, structured, and quietly intense. You get layers of crushed slate, white peach, Meyer lemon, verbena, and hints of wild mint.
