A sparkling pinot noir/chardonnay blend with two years on lees from Tasmania's Huon Valley. Pale straw in the glass with a fine, energetic bead. Aromas of green apple, grapefruit and lemon meld with hints of soft spice, white flowers, freshly baked brioche slathered in lemon butter, oyster shell and stone. Expressive and creamy on the palate with apple and lemon sorbet tones, shortbread and fine, sapid acidity driving things along.

Sparkling wine feels right at home in Tasmania and Kate Hill has long been one of the quiet champions of the island’s cool climate potential. With decades of experience crafting elegant wines from premium southern Tasmanian sites, she has built a reputation for purity, finesse and an intuitive understanding of regional character. This Brut draws fruit from both the Coal River Valley and the Huon Valley, two regions that deliver beautifully complementary qualities. The Coal River contributes fine citrus line and mineral precision, while the Huon brings gentle orchard fruit generosity and textural depth.

Pale straw with lively silver flashes, the wine releases a steady stream of fine bubbles. Aromas feel fresh and inviting with green apple, lemon zest and white peach layered alongside subtle brioche, almond meal and a delicate sea spray nuance that hints at Tasmania’s maritime influence. The palate is crisp yet softly rounded, citrus and stone fruit flowing through a creamy mousse before tightening into a dry, chalk edged finish that lingers with refreshing clarity.

This is a sparkling made for joyful, everyday celebrations. Think fresh oysters, tempura prawns, picnic platters or simply a glass poured as friends gather and the evening begins to unfold. Drinking beautifully now for its vibrant energy and charm, though it will develop extra nutty complexity over the next three to five years. A polished and authentic Tasmanian Brut that captures the spirit of both the Coal and Huon Valleys.
