Powerful and opulent Old Vine Cabernet from vines planted 1959 to 1973
Please note that our bottles of the 2022 vintage are sealed with a cork closure.
Aromas of blackcurrants, tobacco leaves, spices, mocha and licorice. The palate is full-bodied with a luscious mouthfeel, finely integrated tannins and bright acidity. Very powerful, with a soft touch and fresh yet concentrated fruit. Drink or hold.

An opulent nose of heady sweet spices and blackberry jam makes way for a ripe and flavoursome palate. A breath of freshness brings balance while a spine of graphite tannins brings structure. Finishes with an acid bite on the finish but time in the cellar should soften and bring the wine together. Drink to 2033.
93 points Gabrielle Poy for The Real Review, February 2025
Deep crimson in the glass with aromas of plush blackberry, boysenberry and blackcurrant fruits underscored by hints of baking spices, tobacco, red licorice, cedar, dried herbs, pressed flowers, earth and dark chocolate. Pure black fruits on the palate with toothsome, sandy tannins gently tugging at the roof of the mouth, finishing composed, savoury and enduring. Cellaring potential here for sure. Drink to 2038.

The Jackaman’s vineyard was planted in the 1964 and originally farmed by Arthur Jackaman, a colourful Barossa-character, World War II paratrooper, boxer and butcher.
The 2022 vintage is a blend of Lyndoch and Vine Vale vineyards planted between 1959 and 1973. The wine was matured for two years in French oak hogsheads of which roughly a quarter were new.

About this producer
The Lindner family has been immersed in the Barossa’s farming community for six generations and are the custodians of what is believed to be the world’s oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard planted in 1843. Their commitment to quality is unwavering with the Langmeil name representing their family’s ongoing pursuit of excellence all aspects of viticulture and winemaking since 1996.
Like many in the region, the family is of Prussian heritage and settled in the village of Langmeil along the North Para River in 1838. The anti-German sentiment of the late-1910s saw many place names with German origins changed, with Langmeil becoming Bilyara. The locality is now part of the present-day Tanunda.
