Le Vigne di Eli Etna Rosso Moganazzi offers cherry, spice and volcanic minerality with silky tannins and Etna elegance.
Le Vigne di Eli is the heartfelt project of Marco de Grazia, founder of Tenuta delle Terre Nere and one of the visionaries behind Mount Etna's rise to international acclaim. Created in memory of his brother Elio, the estate focuses on tiny parcels of old vines, producing wines that capture the individuality of Etna's volcanic contrade with remarkable clarity and finesse.
The Moganazzi vineyard lies on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna, where Nerello Mascalese flourishes in ancient lava flows and mineral rich volcanic soils. High elevation, cooling Mediterranean breezes and significant day to night temperature shifts produce a wine of perfume, elegance and striking precision, showcasing one of Sicily's most exciting terroirs.
The colour is a brilliant ruby red with delicate garnet highlights. Aromas of wild cherry, red currant and raspberry are layered with dried herbs, rose petals, volcanic smoke and sweet spice. The palate is vibrant and beautifully detailed, combining bright red fruits with fine, silky tannins and lively acidity. Hints of crushed stone, blood orange and savoury spice emerge through the long, mineral finish, revealing the unmistakable character of Mount Etna.
Magnificent with roast duck, chargrilled lamb, mushroom risotto, grilled tuna or aged Pecorino. Enjoy now with a decant or cellar confidently over the next ten to fifteen years as further complexity unfolds.
