A cuvée ronde up and down the slope, from Millerands to Clous. Mid lemon in colour, a fair weight of orchard fruit on the nose, this Meursault fleshes out very well on the palate while retaining a fine thread of citrus acidity that extends the finish. Drink from 2026-2030. Tasted Oct 2023.

90-92 points Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

Olivier Leflaive Meursault 2022 is a standout for anyone searching for premium white Burgundy, delivering the richness and texture Meursault is famous for, but with a level of precision that keeps it beautifully balanced. Olivier Leflaive, part of one of Burgundy’s most respected families, has built a reputation for sourcing top vineyard parcels across the Côte de Beaune and crafting wines that consistently overdeliver for the appellation.

The 2022 vintage brings both generosity and freshness. Aromatics open with ripe white peach and nectarine, layered with lemon curd and a touch of citrus zest. There is a classic Meursault signature here too, toasted almond, hazelnut and a gentle buttery note, all sitting over a subtle mineral backbone.

On the palate it is medium to full bodied, with a creamy, layered texture that defines the style. Stone fruit richness is balanced by a fine line of acidity, giving the wine lift and length. Oak is seamlessly integrated, adding spice and structure without overwhelming the fruit, and the finish carries a lingering mix of citrus, nuts and a soft savoury edge.

Olivier Leflaive’s approach is all about precision and consistency, careful fruit selection, gentle handling and well judged oak use, resulting in a Meursault that captures the essence of the village while remaining approachable and polished.

A natural match for richer dishes, this shines with lobster, scallops, roast chicken or pork, and works beautifully with sauces that carry a bit of weight. It also has the structure to age, gaining more honeyed and nutty complexity over the next eight to twelve years.
