Wild ferment, unfined and unfiltered. Deep magenta-edged crimson with aromas of dark plum, red cherry, blueberry and mulberry fruits cut with exotic spice, earth, purple flowers, dark chocolate and olive tapenade. Bright and balanced on the palate with a parade of fine, sandy tannins swelling on the mid-palate finishing vital and true.

Schwarz Wine Co Meta Shiraz from the Barossa Valley is all about vibrancy and modern edge wrapped in old vine depth. This isn’t your heavy, oak-drenched Barossa beast—Meta is leaner, brighter, and designed to show Shiraz in a more energetic, contemporary light while still honouring the region’s rich heritage.
Crafted by Jason Schwarz, a winemaker with deep roots in the Barossa and a hands-on approach in both vineyard and cellar, the Meta range is all about evolution. It reflects a move towards minimal intervention, freshness, and drinkability. Fruit is sourced from select sites across the Valley, including some seriously old vines, and treated with restraint to let purity shine through.
Wild fermentation, whole bunch inclusion, and maturation in older French oak keep the wine focused and lively. The result is a Shiraz that’s perfumed and textured with a real sense of place and purpose.
Expect aromas of blackberry, crushed pepper, violets, and graphite. The palate is medium bodied, juicy and taut with dark fruit, savoury spice, fine tannins and a mineral line that gives the finish lift and clarity.
Meta Shiraz is Barossa through a new lens, bold, but never bloated, structured, but always drinkable. It’s brilliant with chargrilled meats, roasted eggplant, or anything with a smoky edge.
