The second release of a grenache under 'The Grower' label for Jason Schwarz. Vibrant magenta-splashed crimson with aromas of red cherry, plum and cranberry fruits cut with gingery spice, cola, dried meats, pressed flowers and earth. Some nice mocha tones flow in on the palate, which shows fine, sandy tannin grip and spiced plums on the exit.

Schwarz Wine Co The Grower’s GSM is a generous, fruit-driven red that celebrates the classic Barossa blend of Grenache, Shiraz, and Mataro with a fresh, modern twist. It’s a wine that puts the spotlight on the people behind the fruit—local growers who’ve nurtured old vines across the Valley for generations. Jason Schwarz brings their hard work to life with a juicy, approachable wine that’s full of flavour but never overdone.
Each variety plays its part. Grenache leads the way with bright red fruit and spice, Shiraz adds mid-palate richness, and Mataro (aka Mourvèdre) brings structure, earth, and a savoury edge. The fruit is sourced from a mix of vineyards across Bethany, Vine Vale, and Krondorf, where deep sandy soils and old bush vines create concentration without heaviness.
In the winery, Jason keeps things simple. Ferments are wild, oak is mostly old, and extraction is gentle to retain purity and lift. The result is a beautifully balanced GSM that’s packed with flavour but glides across the palate.
Expect aromas of raspberry, cherry, dried thyme, and subtle spice. The palate is plush and silky, with layers of red and dark fruit, hints of cinnamon and earth, and fine tannins that make it effortlessly drinkable. It’s crowd-pleasing but detailed, perfect for barbecues, charcuterie boards, or just a big glass and a good night in.
