Clones MV6, 114 and 115; 85% de-stemmed, 15% whole bunches; five-day cold soak, seven-day wild ferment; matured for 12 months in new and used French barriques. The fragrant bouquet picks up the vinification with typical Brockett precision and length. If left to mature for a few years, spices will build and the finish grow further.

Few wineries are as closely identified with the Bellarine Peninsula as Scotchmans Hill. Established by the Browne family in 1982, the estate overlooks Port Phillip Bay from one of the region's highest vineyard sites. More than four decades later, Scotchmans Hill remains a benchmark producer, with winemaker Robin Brockett continuing to craft wines that capture the maritime influence, cool climate elegance and distinctive character of the Bellarine Peninsula.
The 2022 growing season delivered excellent conditions for Pinot Noir, allowing the fruit to ripen gradually while retaining freshness and aromatic detail. The vineyards benefit from cooling breezes flowing across the bay, moderating temperatures and extending the growing season. These conditions help produce Pinot Noir with bright fruit, fine structure and a natural sense of balance. Careful oak maturation adds complexity without overshadowing the vineyard character.
Bright ruby red in colour, the wine reveals aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry, complemented by notes of rose petal, cinnamon and subtle forest floor complexity. The palate is silky and approachable, offering layers of red berry fruit, cranberry and gentle spice. Fine tannins provide structure, while vibrant acidity keeps the wine fresh and energetic. Hints of earth and savoury herbs emerge through the finish, adding depth and regional character.
A wonderful match for roast duck with cherry glaze, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, pork loin with fennel or a roasted beetroot and goat's cheese tart. Enjoyable from release, it will continue to develop additional savoury complexity over the next five to seven years. Elegant, versatile and beautifully balanced, it is a classic expression of Bellarine Peninsula Pinot Noir.
