Tim Adams established his Clare Valley winery with his wife Pam in 1987 and has been making consistent estate grown wines ever since.
The 2022 was a particularly smooth and steady ripening season, producing well-defined fruit with good concentration. This release also includes a parcel from the Schaefer vineyard, contributing to a fresh lift and perfumed character that sets the 2022 apart from recent vintages. Fermented on skins for up to ten days, pressings blended back for added structure and mouthfeel, then 24 months in a combination of American and French oak.
Deep purple, the nose shows black cherry, blackcurrant and dark plum with dark chocolate, spice and integrated oak. The palate is full and soft with ripe tannins, good fruit concentration and a long, structured finish.
Approachable now and will develop comfortably over the next several years. Not cold stabilised, so a harmless crystalline deposit may form with time. Serve with a hearty meal.
