A light, bright ruby red. Ultra fragrant with its aromas of red cherries, cranberry, blood oranges, rose petal, nutmeg shavings and a dusting of cinnamon. And while it's light on its feet, the flavours keep building on the palate, which finishes with silky, persistent tannins on the lingering finish. A wine that's destined to provide considerable pleasure over the next six to eight years.

Yering Station Reserve Pinot Noir is a benchmark Yarra Valley wine and one of the estate’s most elegant and age-worthy expressions of the region’s signature red variety. Made only in exceptional vintages, this is a selection of the finest barrels from their best-performing vineyard sites, showcasing the finesse, perfume and quiet power that define great cool-climate Pinot Noir. It’s a wine of detail, structure and longevity, and firmly among the top-tier Pinots produced in the Yarra Valley.

The fruit is hand-picked from low-yielding vines grown on a mix of grey loam and clay over gravel, contributing both aromatic lift and mineral depth. Whole berry fermentation, a touch of whole bunch, and wild yeasts are used to build complexity and texture. The wine is matured in French oak barriques (around 40 percent new) for 10 to 12 months, with minimal intervention to preserve purity.

In the glass, it opens with lifted aromatics of cherry, raspberry, rose petal, clove and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied and finely structured, showing layers of red fruit, silky tannins, fresh acidity and a subtle savoury core. Oak is finely integrated, adding spice and length without overshadowing the fruit. It’s a wine that unfolds slowly, showing more detail and nuance with each swirl.

Food pairing: Exceptional with duck confit, roast quail, mushroom and truffle risotto, or grilled salmon with tamari and sesame. It also pairs beautifully with soft-ripened cheeses or earthy vegetable tarts.

Cellar potential: A serious Pinot Noir built to age. Best from 2025 to 2035+, evolving more earthy, gamey and forest-driven character over time.
