All styles, all price points – Bleasdale does it all so well. This is tip-top with its upfront fruit flavours, spiced plums and black cherries, a touch of kirsch, too. It’s spicy, very juicy and tangy, super vibrant with just enough fruit tannins to add more shape to its barely medium-bodied palate. Nice one.

Bleasdale Bremerview Shiraz from Langhorne Creek is a plush, generously fruited red that delivers excellent value and classic South Australian character. Bleasdale, one of Australia’s oldest wineries, has been producing wine in Langhorne Creek since 1850, and the Bremerview Shiraz reflects the estate’s deep understanding of this fertile, maritime-influenced region.
Langhorne Creek is known for its consistent ripening conditions, thanks to cooling breezes off Lake Alexandrina and the Bremer River’s natural irrigation. These factors allow Shiraz to ripen with richness and concentration while maintaining balance and freshness. The fruit is sourced from estate and grower vineyards, fermented on skins for full flavour extraction, and matured in a mix of American and French oak to enhance structure and spice.
Expect aromas of blackberry, plum and raspberry, backed by notes of mocha, vanilla, pepper and a hint of dried herbs. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with soft tannins and a lingering, juicy finish. It’s a crowd-pleaser, with plenty of flavour and a supple, approachable style that drinks well young but can hold for a few years.
Pair it with grilled sausages, smoky barbecue ribs, shepherd’s pie or roast beef with mustard jus. It’s also great with hard cheeses or a mushroom and lentil bake.
