Fine, elegant, densely woven fragrance, apricot, apple, apple blossom, also pear and herbs. The linear unfolding of the fruit shows tension and density, the interwoven acidity creates presence and length, mineral, citric in the background.

Hidden among the historic vineyards of Wachenheim, the Gerümpel Premier Cru site is renowned for producing Rieslings of precision, energy and unmistakable Pfalz character. Weingut Dr. Bürklin-Wolf has cultivated these vineyards for centuries, combining a winemaking history that dates back to 1597 with a pioneering commitment to biodynamic farming. The estate's Premier Cru classification highlights vineyards that consistently deliver outstanding quality and a strong sense of place.

The Gerümpel vineyard benefits from a complex mix of sandstone, limestone and loam soils, encouraging deep root systems and wines with both richness and mineral definition. The warm Pfalz climate is tempered by cool evening breezes, allowing Riesling to ripen fully while retaining freshness and vibrant acidity. The excellent 2023 vintage produced fruit of exceptional purity, resulting in a wine of impressive balance and clarity.

Pale straw with green highlights, the bouquet is bright and expressive, revealing aromas of lime blossom, green apple and white peach alongside notes of lemon zest, fresh herbs and wet stone. The palate is dry, vibrant and beautifully focused, offering flavours of citrus, grapefruit and ripe pear supported by lively acidity and a fine mineral backbone. The texture is sleek and refined, flowing through to a long, precise finish with lingering citrus and stony nuances.

This is a superb partner for grilled prawns, pork schnitzel, smoked trout, sushi, roast chicken or asparagus with hollandaise. It is equally rewarding as an aperitif, showcasing the purity, elegance and food friendly nature that have made dry Pfalz Riesling so admired around the world.
