Rich and full-bodied Cabernet with excellent cellaring potential
Deep-ish ruby with a garnet tinge in the edge, the bouquet loaded with dark fruits, cassis and mulberry, with mossy underbrush touches, olive paste and a lacing of nori/iodine. It's full bodied and power-packed with lasting intensity and drive, very deeply flavoured on the mid-palate and garnished with fine, persistent, mouth-coating tannins that will help ensure a long and distinguished career. The perfumes expanded with time in the glass. Superb cabernet now and for many years hence. Wilyabrup vineyards. Drink to 2043.
97 points Huon Hooke for The Real Review, September 2026
The richness and power of Margaret River in this vintage are well to the fore. The fruit comes from the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River, and it’s just loaded with all that you expect from the blackcurrant, dark olive, subtle bay leaf and plum notes on the nose. And then the palate is so rich, with a degree of opulence, but it’s held with control thanks to the fine, firmish tannins and the tight-grained new and one-year-old oak. Perfectly balanced and poised. Drink to 2038.

Larry Cherubino is an experienced winemaker of Italian heritage with roots firmly in place across Western Australia’s Great Southern, Pemberton and Margaret River wine regions. His extensive portfolio of wines spans a dozen or so labels, each offering a number of varieties or styles, and all delivering impressively consistent quality and value.
From the near-perfect 2023 season in Margaret River, with moderate temperatures throughout the summer extending into the dry Autumn, ripening Cabernet to perfection.
The result is full-bodied, rich expression of Cabernet that is well suited for longer term cellaring.
