2023 Domaine Pierre Usseglio et Fils Cotes du Rhone, Southern Rhone

Family owned since 1948, the estate has earned an enviable reputation for wines that combine generous fruit, authentic Southern Rhône character and exceptional value.

Sourced from vineyards surrounding Châteauneuf du Pape, the blend is led by Grenache with Syrah and Mourvèdre adding depth and complexity. Warm Mediterranean sunshine, cooling mistral winds and stony soils produce fruit of excellent ripeness while preserving freshness and balance, creating a Côtes du Rhône that comfortably exceeds expectations.

The colour is a deep ruby crimson with youthful purple highlights. Aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry and raspberry are lifted by wild thyme, lavender, cracked pepper and sweet spice. The palate is supple and beautifully balanced, carrying vibrant dark berry fruit through silky tannins and lively acidity. Hints of liquorice, garrigue and savoury herbs build towards a long, satisfying finish that reflects the warmth and generosity of the Southern Rhône.
