Fattori Col de Bastia Valpolicella Superiore brings cherry, plum and spice with silky tannins, savoury depth and Veneto character.
Rather than chasing power, the Fattori family have built their reputation on producing wines that reflect the elegance and character of the Veneto's hillside vineyards. Generations of careful viticulture and traditional winemaking have earned the estate a loyal following for wines that combine purity of fruit with regional authenticity.
Col de Bastia Valpolicella Superiore is sourced from elevated vineyards where limestone and volcanic soils, warm sunshine and cooling breezes produce fruit of exceptional balance and freshness. Carefully matured to enhance complexity without masking the vineyard, it captures the vibrant, savoury style that has made traditional Valpolicella a favourite at the table.
The colour is a brilliant ruby red with youthful garnet highlights. Aromas of black cherry, red plum and wild berries are joined by violets, dried herbs and sweet spice. The palate is supple and beautifully balanced, carrying juicy dark and red fruits through silky tannins and lively acidity. Hints of liquorice, cedar and earthy spice linger across a long, savoury finish with impressive elegance.
A wonderful companion to roast pork, mushroom risotto, grilled Italian sausages, eggplant parmigiana or aged Monte Veronese. Enjoy over the next six to eight years while its generous fruit and refined structure are at their best.
