Mixing 80% Grenache with 20% Syrah, the 2023 Ventoux Megaphone was vinified with roughly 10% whole-clusters in the Grenache. Opening with ripe strawberry, rose petal and a pinch of dried herbs, the spicy 2023 is gently framed by smooth tannins and rounds out with a juicy finish of moderate length.

Frédéric & Daniel Brunier Megaphone Ventoux Rouge from the Southern Rhône is a bold yet balanced red that delivers serious character without the Châteauneuf price tag. The Brunier brothers, best known as the team behind the legendary Vieux Télégraphe, bring their same finesse and vineyard focus to this project just east of the Dentelles de Montmirail.
Megaphone comes from a single plot near the village of Saint-Hippolyte-le-Graveyron, at the foot of the Ventoux mountain. The blend is mostly Grenache with a splash of Syrah, grown on clay-limestone soils that give the wine structure, freshness and a subtle mineral lift. Everything is done by hand in the vineyard, with organic practices and a clear respect for terroir.
In the glass, it’s dark ruby and expressive, with aromas of blackberry, plum, dried herbs, cracked pepper and just a flick of lavender. The palate is juicy and medium to full bodied, with silky tannins and flavours of black fruit, spice and savoury garrigue. It’s generous, but never overdone—there’s always that Brunier sense of restraint and elegance.
Pair it with grilled lamb, ratatouille, mushroom tagliatelle or hard cheeses. It’s a Rhône red that punches well above its weight, offering real depth and drinkability with a soulful Southern feel.
