Rosehip-dusted red raspberry fills the nose followed by red plum, dried-cranberry skin and boysenberry blossom. The palate begins with grippy tannins and then cascades into dried violet blossom and blackberry on the long finish. Decant and drink now; this wine can continue to develop in bottle through 2040.

Fleurie is often called the most elegant of the Beaujolais crus, and Georges Duboeuf has done as much as anyone to bring that charm to a wider audience. Working closely with growers across the region, the Duboeuf family has built a long standing négociant house that focuses on expressing each cru’s personality, and in Fleurie that means perfume, finesse and a lighter touch.
The 2023 vintage leans into that floral, lifted style. Aromatics open with red cherry, raspberry and a hint of strawberry, wrapped in rose petal and violet. There is a soft spice note and a gentle earthy nuance underneath, but it is the perfume that really defines the wine.
On the palate it is light to medium bodied, with soft, silky tannins and a fresh line of acidity that keeps everything bright. The fruit is juicy and flowing, finishing clean with a subtle savoury edge that adds just enough complexity without weighing it down. It is all about drinkability and elegance.
Winemaking is geared toward preserving that vibrant fruit character, with a focus on gentle extraction and minimal heaviness, allowing Fleurie’s natural grace to shine through.
This is perfect with lighter dishes. Roast chicken, grilled salmon, or a simple charcuterie board all work beautifully. It also pairs well with salads, vegetable dishes or even enjoyed slightly chilled on its own.
Best enjoyed young to capture that fragrance and freshness, offering a classic, easy going expression of Fleurie.
