2023 Hungerford Hill Dalwood Vineyard Chardonnay, Hunter Valley

A tightly coiled, single-block wine that benefits from considerable aeration to open and integrate the fruit and winemaking elements. But once it blooms, it is delicious and is a fine example of Hunter Valley chardonnay. A defined core of acidity enhances the sublime grapefruit and subtle white stone fruit flavours. A touch of gunflint lingers on the close.

Dalwood Estate Chardonnay grows in sandy loam soil on the south bank of the Hunter River..

Bright straw yellow with a youthful green tinge.  Lifted aroma of cashew and creamy lanolin with complex battonage notes.  A very spicy and full palate with a tight and balanced acid structure supported by seasoned French oak.
