Among the finest vineyards of Puligny Montrachet, Perrières is widely regarded as one of the appellation’s most distinguished Premier Cru sites. The vineyard sits on a rocky slope of limestone and marl where the name Perrières, meaning stones, reflects the fractured white rock that shapes the wine’s remarkable minerality. Domaine Jean Louis Chavy is a respected family estate with deep roots in Puligny Montrachet, where the Chavy family have cultivated vines for generations. Today Jean Louis Chavy continues that tradition with meticulous vineyard work and precise winemaking that allows the purity and energy of Puligny Chardonnay to shine. Wines from Perrières are often considered among the most Grand Cru like of the Premier Crus, prized by collectors for their depth, elegance and longevity.
The wine shows a pale gold colour with brilliant clarity. Aromas unfold with lemon zest, white peach and ripe pear layered with white blossom, crushed stone and subtle hazelnut. As the wine opens further notes of almond, gentle spice and a touch of brioche appear, adding complexity while preserving the vineyard’s mineral core. The palate is concentrated yet incredibly refined with vibrant acidity carrying flavours of citrus, orchard fruit and chalky limestone tension. There is both power and precision here, building toward a long saline finish that lingers with remarkable clarity.
This is a rare and high quality expression of Puligny Montrachet that will continue to evolve beautifully for fifteen to twenty years. It is exceptional with lobster, scallops, turbot or refined seafood dishes.
