Certainly fruit flavours within – the black cherries and compote, but also some beetroot and chinotto with a little Campari twang. A clear ruby garnet hue glows softly in the glass. Aromas rise with wild strawberry, red cherry and cranberry layered alongside rose petal, clove and a gentle forest floor savouriness. There is a lifted floral elegance that feels distinctly Peninsula. The palate is finely woven and medium bodied, juicy red fruits gliding across silky tannins with notes of rhubarb, dried herbs and crushed stone adding dimension. Bright acidity keeps the wine poised and food focused, finishing long with a mineral freshness and lingering spice.
