Peter Lehmann Hill & Valley Shiraz from the Barossa Valley is a bold yet beautifully balanced expression of one of Australia’s most iconic wine regions. Crafted by the team at Peter Lehmann Wines, it celebrates the diversity of the Barossa’s subregions, combining fruit from both the higher, cooler Eden Valley and the warmer Barossa Valley floor to achieve richness, fragrance, and structure in perfect harmony.
The grapes are sourced from long-term grower vineyards, many with mature vines deeply rooted in clay and loam soils. Fermentation takes place in small open vats with regular pump-overs to extract colour and flavour, followed by maturation in a mix of French and American oak hogsheads for up to eighteen months. This careful approach builds depth and complexity while retaining freshness and balance.
In the glass it shows deep crimson with purple hues. The aroma is rich and inviting, with dark plum, blackberry, and black cherry interwoven with hints of chocolate, pepper, and warm spice. The palate is full bodied and generous, offering layers of ripe fruit, mocha, and savoury oak framed by smooth tannins and vibrant acidity. It finishes long, plush, and beautifully integrated — a quintessential Barossa Shiraz with elegance and power in equal measure.
It pairs wonderfully with grilled steak, roast lamb, or slow-cooked beef, and it’s equally at home with mushroom-based dishes or aged cheddar. Enjoy it now for its richness and charm, or cellar for up to twelve years as it develops notes of earth, leather, and spice.
