Longview Juno Nebbiolo Rosato from the Adelaide Hills is a beautifully refined rosé that captures the perfume, structure and delicacy of Nebbiolo grown in one of Australia’s most exciting cool-climate regions. Crafted by winemaker Paul Hotker at the Longview estate in Macclesfield, it’s inspired by the elegant dry rosati of northern Italy yet distinctly shaped by the purity and lift of Adelaide Hills fruit. The wine takes its name from Juno, the Roman goddess of love and vitality, a fitting symbol for a wine that radiates both elegance and vibrancy.
The Nebbiolo grapes are sourced exclusively from Longview’s estate vineyards, where altitude, sandstone soils and cool nights preserve natural acidity and aromatic intensity. The fruit is hand picked early to retain freshness and pressed gently to achieve a delicate pale colour. Fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel ensures clarity and precision, while a short time on lees adds subtle texture and roundness. The result is a dry, savoury rosé that balances fragrant fruit with fine structure.
In the glass it gleams a pale salmon hue with rose-gold reflections. The aroma is lifted and enticing, showing wild strawberry, rose petal, blood orange and hints of spice and mineral. The palate is crisp and finely structured, with red currant and citrus zest flowing into a long, mouthwatering finish edged with a gentle chalky grip. It’s a rosé of purity and poise, more about texture and finesse than overt sweetness.
Perfectly suited to alfresco dining, it pairs beautifully with charcuterie, grilled prawns, roasted vegetables or prosciutto and melon. It also shines alongside seafood pasta, light salads or goat cheese. Best enjoyed young for its freshness and vibrancy, it will hold gracefully for three to four years.
