The 2023 Rosé Le Clos Peyrassol is gorgeously floral—a wine built much more on aromatic expression and complexity than concentration of flavors. The bouquet evokes a walk through a rose garden in the throes of spring, punctuated by the occasional pop of fresh, just-ripe apricot, pineapple and deep overtones of stemmy herbs and sweet baking spices. Focused, pure and delicate, this is a supremely elegant edition of Le Clos, if a bit introspective. There's a discernible blossom honey note on the close that I find so engaging, wrapping things up with just a touch of inner sweetness. - Billy Norris

Peyrassol Clos Peyrassol from Côtes de Provence is an elegant, finely crafted rosé from one of the region’s most historic and respected estates. The Commanderie de Peyrassol dates back to the 13th century, originally founded by the Knights Templar, and today the estate is known for producing some of the most refined and terroir-driven rosés in Provence.
Clos Peyrassol is the flagship cuvée, made from a carefully selected plot of old vines planted in limestone-rich soils at altitude in the foothills of the Massif des Maures. The blend is typically Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino), harvested by hand and vinified with incredible precision. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with partial ageing in large oak vats to add texture and complexity.
The wine pours a pale, shimmering salmon pink. Aromas are delicate yet persistent—white peach, wild strawberry, citrus peel and subtle florals with a whisper of fresh herbs. On the palate, it’s crisp, dry and mineral, with fine acidity and a beautifully savoury, almost salty finish. It’s silky and layered, with structure that sets it apart from your typical beachside rosé.
Ideal with grilled langoustines, burrata with tomato and basil, Provençal vegetable tarts or even sushi. It’s also a standout apéritif for warm evenings when only the best will do.
