Brothers Florent and Clément Pinard have built an enviable reputation at their family domaine in Bué, producing some of Sancerre's most distinctive wines. Their Pinard Brothers project explores a more playful side of winemaking while retaining the care and attention to detail that have made the family so highly regarded. Echoes is a wonderfully individual expression of Sauvignon Blanc, combining the fragrance of Sancerre with an appealing sense of texture and depth.
The 2023 reflects the limestone rich vineyards around Bué, where Sauvignon Blanc develops concentrated fruit, lively acidity and a distinctive mineral character. There is a lovely balance between the vintage's generous ripeness and the freshness that defines the region's finest whites.
Pale gold with bright green highlights. Ripe grapefruit, white peach and lemon zest mingle with elderflower, fresh fennel and a hint of flint. The palate is supple and finely textured, with juicy citrus, delicate stone fruit and refreshing acidity. A gentle chalky note and savoury herbal character carry through a long, saline finish.
Try it with grilled kingfish and salsa verde, asparagus and ricotta ravioli, or crispy artichokes with lemon aioli. Its freshness and texture also make it a lovely partner for Vietnamese seafood dishes with fresh herbs.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2033. Enjoyable for its youthful fragrance, with the structure to develop further savoury complexity.
