Royal Tokaji Late Harvest brings apricot, honey and orange marmalade with vibrant acidity and classic Tokaj character.
Royal Tokaji Wine Company played a pivotal role in reviving Hungary's most famous wine region following the fall of communism. Founded in 1990 with the support of renowned international wine figures, the winery has helped restore Tokaj's reputation as one of the world's great sweet wine regions. Drawing on centuries of tradition and exceptional vineyards, it continues to craft wines of remarkable purity, balance and elegance.
This Late Harvest is made from hand selected Furmint, Hárslevelű and Muscat grapes, with a proportion naturally affected by noble rot. The volcanic soils of Tokaj, autumn morning mists and warm afternoons create the ideal conditions for botrytis, concentrating flavours while preserving vibrant acidity. The result is a beautifully balanced dessert wine that is luscious without becoming overly sweet.
The colour is a brilliant golden amber. Aromas of apricot, orange marmalade and ripe peach are lifted by acacia honey, citrus blossom and a hint of spice. The palate is silky and vibrant, combining luscious stone fruit with notes of candied citrus and honey, all balanced by refreshing acidity. A lingering finish of remarkable freshness leaves the wine beautifully poised and irresistibly moreish.
Delicious with blue cheese, peach tart, lemon cheesecake, foie gras or simply enjoyed chilled as a decadent treat. Drink now or cellar for a decade as further complexity and richness continue to develop.
