A fabulous rendition of the variety, showing blackcurrant, thyme, clove and elegant oak aromas, followed by a beautifully weighted palate offering succulent fruit intensity with supple texture and chalky tannins. Rich and mouthfilling, yet with poise and grace, making it gorgeously drinkable

When I lived in the Barossa, Tim Pumpa was my mechanic and he had his work cut out dealing with my crappy Landrover Discovery. I'm sure he'd be related to these Eden Valley vineyard owners. The Barossa is like that. Plenty to like here. Bright blackberry pastille and blackcurrant fruits, laden with spice, sage and earthen tone. Some high-toned floral flecks as well, bright acidity and gentle, powdery tannins to boot. Good vibrant drinking.

Sons of Eden has a simple philosophy to produce wines with flavour and personality from vineyards of unique character within the world class Barossa region in South Australia.Sons of Eden takes its name from the two partners, Winemaker Corey Ryan and Viticulturist Simon Cowham, who both learned and refined their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley.Specialing in varieties that the Barossa produces to the highest standard. Varieties such as Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre from the Barossa Valley and Riesling from the Eden Valley.
This Pumpa is a blend of Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and a small portion of Shiraz. The Cabernet is from 20 year-old vines and the Shiraz from 50+ year-old vines, both in the Central sub-region of the Eden Valley.
Perfumed red-currant, dried herbs and roasted chestnut aromas. A rich and juicy palate coated with chewy, rounded tannins and finishing with a lovely freshness. A wine that is approachable now, which will continue to gain complexity as it matures over the medium term.
