Vibrant and zesty white from Tasmania’s southeastern coast with layered flavours of white stone fruit and citrus
Drinking well on release, the 2023 Spring Vale Chardonnay opens with vibrant aromatics of ripe white stone fruit, butterscotch and lemon curd spill into the medium-bodied, layered palate, with zesty acidity providing length and balance.
About this producer
Spring Vale is a Tasmanian east coast producer of wine established in 1986 by Rod and Lyn Lyne. Located near Wineglass Bay, their family has farmed here for five generations starting in 1875, with the property originally being devoted to sheep and cattle.
Their 33-hectare vineyard is planted mostly to Pinot Noir, with smaller blocks of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Meunier and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyards are today managed by Rodney and Lyn’s son Tim, who also acts as the general manager for Spring Vale, working with his winery counterpart, winemaker Matt Wood.
