Swinging Bridge Caldwell Lane Pinot Noir from Orange is a beautifully balanced cool-climate red that captures the elegance and finesse of high-altitude Pinot in New South Wales. Sourced from the estate’s premium Caldwell Lane vineyard, this wine reflects a meticulous approach to site, vine, and vintage, delivering purity of fruit, subtle spice, and fine structure.

Perched on the volcanic slopes of Mount Canobolas at over 900 metres above sea level, Caldwell Lane benefits from a long, slow ripening season that brings intensity and freshness to the fruit. The combination of rich basalt soils and cool temperatures gives this Pinot Noir a lifted aromatic profile and refined texture—hallmarks of the region's emerging reputation for serious Pinot.

Winemaker Tom Ward approaches the variety with a light touch, focusing on elegance and site expression. Small parcels are handpicked and fermented with a portion of whole bunches to enhance perfume and tannin structure. The wine is matured in French oak, with a careful use of new barrels to frame rather than dominate.

In the glass, it opens with aromas of wild cherry, cranberry, rose petal, and forest floor. The palate is silky and precise, offering layers of red fruit, gentle spice, and subtle earth, supported by bright acidity and fine tannins. The finish is long and savoury, with just enough weight to handle food but plenty of charm on its own.
