There's something wonderfully comforting about a good Chianti, especially when there's a delicious Italian dinner on the table. Tenute Rossetti draws on Tuscany's long winemaking tradition, with roots in the Rossetti family's wine business established in the early twentieth century. Sangiovese is the star here, thriving in the region's sun drenched vineyards and limestone rich soils, producing reds with lively acidity and an unmistakably Italian savoury character.
Bright ruby red with youthful violet reflections. Juicy red cherry, raspberry and ripe plum mingle with dried oregano, violet and a touch of earthy spice. The 2023 vintage is fresh and approachable, with supple tannins, vibrant acidity and a pleasing hint of almond on the finish. Nothing overly complicated, just deliciously drinkable Tuscan red with plenty of personality.
Perfect with wood fired pizza topped with spicy salami and roasted peppers, tomato braised calamari with olives, or crispy eggplant parmigiana with fresh basil. A generous bowl of pappardelle with slow cooked ragù wouldn't go astray either.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2029. Best enjoyed for its bright fruit and lively Tuscan character.
