Two Hands Brave Faces consistently roll out a strong GMS/GSM blend each year and this year is no different. It's always a fragrant wine; notes of orange blossom and violets fluttering above the ripe, plummy fruit. Spicy, too, with hints of soy, gingerbread, cola, roasting meats, licorice, tobacco and earth. There's oak but it's way back in that lush fruit. The tannins are powdery and fine and the wine travels on for a good while.

Two Hands Brave Faces Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre from the Barossa Valley is a bold, sun-soaked red that captures the warmth and generosity of this iconic Australian region. Blending Shiraz with Grenache and Mourvedre, it offers plush fruit, spice and savoury depth in classic Barossa style, with a modern polish that reflects the precision and flair Two Hands is known for.

Each variety contributes something unique. Shiraz delivers rich blackberry and plum, Grenache brings red fruit brightness and lifted aromatics, while Mourvedre adds earthy tannin and a rustic touch that grounds the blend. Fruit is sourced from selected vineyard sites across the Barossa and handled gently to retain vibrancy and regional character.

The wine is fermented in small open-top fermenters and matured in seasoned French oak to soften the tannins without overwhelming the fruit. This results in a wine that is approachable yet structured, generous yet finely detailed.

In the glass, expect ripe aromas of black cherry, raspberry, cinnamon, clove and a touch of dried herbs. The palate is juicy and full bodied with silky tannins, dark berry fruit, baking spice and a savoury finish. It’s plush, smooth and satisfying, ideal for cool nights or hearty meals.

Pair it with lamb shoulder, chargrilled sausages, smoky eggplant or a rich mushroom ragù. Enjoy it now or cellar for five to eight years to see the Mourvedre evolve and deepen the complexity.
