Lively and fragrant blend of two old vine vineyards planted in 1854 and 1920
A blend of 98/2% shiraz/viognier sourced from the Eden Valley. Magenta-splashed crimson in the glass with aromas of floral-flecked satsuma plum, blueberry and boysenberry fruits cut with hints of baking spices, roast meats, dried citrus rind, lavender, Chinese barbecue, earth and a whiff of dried stone fruits. There's a slurpiness to the fruit on the palate, pure and enduring, with gentle, powdery tannins and an infectious energy as it trails away. Drink to 2038.

Yalumba is a historic wine company established in 1849 remaining in the hands of the Hill-Smith family six generations on.
From the cool and long 2023 season, the Shiraz fruit for this wine came from two old vine vineyards: the 1920 planted Bartholomaeus family vineyard at the southern edge of Eden Valley township, and the 1854 planted Scott Thorn Clifton Park Shiraz vineyard in Wilton.
The Shiraz parcels were co-fermented with a small amount of Viognier from Yalumba’s Short’s vineyard planted in 1998. The pressed wine was then matured for fourteen months in mostly seasoned French oak puncheons and hogsheads, with 15% of the former new for this vintage.
