Taking Oregon Chardonnay into seriously exciting territory, EGW stands for Extra Good White, a flagship expression from 00 Wines. Founded by Chris and Kathryn Hermann, this ambitious Willamette Valley producer has earned a devoted following for its Burgundian inspired Chardonnays. Carefully selected vineyard parcels, distinctive pressing techniques and thoughtful oak maturation create wines of remarkable concentration and finesse.
Brilliant pale gold with delicate green reflections. Ripe white peach, preserved lemon and golden pear mingle with acacia blossom, roasted hazelnut and a whisper of flinty smoke. The 2024 vintage is beautifully concentrated yet wonderfully fresh, with silky texture, vibrant citrus acidity and a long, mineral finish. Richness and restraint sit comfortably together, giving this Chardonnay impressive depth and elegance.
Magnificent with roasted marron and tarragon, delicate crab ravioli with saffron, or a golden cauliflower and hazelnut tart. A sophisticated Oregon Chardonnay for lovers of exceptional white Burgundy.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2038+. A serious Chardonnay with excellent potential to develop greater savoury complexity over the coming decade.
