Made from fruit grown on the Winery Block at Bannockburn and matured in hogsheads (10% new). I doubt I'll taste too many better under $30 shiraz wines this year (or next) than this! A bright, medium crimson purple, this has an impressive core of dark fruits, lifted floral and white pepper notes and a little tapenade. It's equally impressive on the medium-bodied, spicy and well-balanced palate. Drink now and over the next 2–3 years.

1314 wines are made from estate grown fruit, in a vibrant and approachable style for early enjoyment and refreshing drinking.

A striking and bright colour of inky purple and crimson. On the nose aromas of black and red fruits are up front, with some lingering blue fruits, spicy clove and anise. It's unmistakably cool climate Shiraz. On the palate there is meat and olive characters and high toned, pure fruits. The wine has a lovely mouthful of flavour, but retains freshness, clarity and fine but firm tannin.

Bannockburn 1314 A.D. Shiraz from Geelong is a bold and expressive wine that showcases the cool-climate elegance of this Victorian wine region. Bannockburn Vineyards, founded in 1974, is one of Geelong’s most respected wineries, renowned for crafting wines that reflect the unique terroir of their vineyards. Under the direction of winemaker Matt Holmes, Bannockburn continues to produce wines of balance and character with a focus on sustainability and minimal intervention.

The 1314 A.D. Shiraz displays a vibrant ruby-red hue and exudes aromas of blackberries, plums, and cracked black pepper, accented by subtle notes of violets, smoked meats, and spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and silky, with layers of dark fruit, fine tannins, and a touch of savory complexity, leading to a long, refined finish.

Perfect for pairing with dishes like Moroccan lamb tagine, chargrilled venison, or roasted eggplant with miso glaze, this Shiraz offers both versatility and sophistication.
