Organic estate fruit fermented in tank and bottled after mlf, with no sulphur employed. This is such a joyous wine, unencumbered by oak, a full buoyant expression of lovingly grown fruit. There should be more like it. Untrammelled by winemaking, this is a riot of violet, lilac, boysenberry, blackberry, blueberry, lavender and iodine, with hints of salted licorice, cola, gingerbread and a tarry mineral-like note. But this is no gushing fruit bomb, with tannins matched to effusiveness, and the general feel medium in heft and savoury in conclusion. This is really very lovely.

Made in a pure, minimal intervention style, this preservative free Shiraz captures the dark fruited generosity of McLaren Vale with a clean, vibrant edge. Battle of Bosworth farms organically in the Vale, focusing on healthy soils and balanced vines to produce fruit with natural intensity and freshness. The Puritan range is bottled with no added sulphur, allowing the fruit and place to speak clearly, resulting in a wine that feels alive, energetic and wonderfully expressive.
Deep purple in colour, the aromas are bold and inviting, showing blackberry, plum and dark cherry, layered with licorice, black pepper and a subtle earthy note. The palate is juicy and medium to full bodied, with plush dark fruit, soft tannins and a lively acid line that keeps the wine fresh and highly drinkable. There is a natural vibrancy and purity to the finish that makes it dangerously easy to return for another glass.
Perfect with barbecue, burgers, lamb, sausages, wood fired pizza and casual weeknight dinners. Best enjoyed young for its bright fruit and energy, though it will hold well over the next five to seven years.
