Dr. Bürklin-Wolf is one of Germany's most celebrated Riesling estates, with a winemaking history in the Pfalz dating back to 1597. Based in Wachenheim, the estate is renowned for its biodynamically farmed vineyards and beautifully expressive dry Rieslings. Their Wachenheimer Riesling draws on vineyards surrounding the village, capturing the character and elegance that have made Bürklin-Wolf a benchmark for German white wine.
The 2024 reflects the Pfalz's combination of sunny days, cool nights and varied sandstone and limestone soils. Made in the estate's distinctive dry style, it balances ripe fruit with vibrant acidity and a finely textured mineral character.
Pale straw yellow with luminous green highlights. Fresh lime, white peach and crisp green apple mingle with lemon blossom, crushed stone and a hint of fresh herbs. The palate is beautifully focused, with juicy citrus, delicate orchard fruit and refreshing acidity. A subtle saline note and gentle stony texture carry through a long, mouthwatering finish.
Try it with grilled prawns and green chilli dressing, Vietnamese turmeric fish with dill, or crispy potato rösti with smoked trout and crème fraîche. Its freshness also makes it a wonderful partner for asparagus, fresh herbs and lightly spiced vegetable dishes.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2033. Delightful for its youthful citrus character, with the acidity and structure to develop greater complexity over time.
