Ripe citrus, creamy texture and fine minerality in a beautifully balanced white Burgundy.
Meursault has long been the benchmark for rich, expressive white Burgundy, producing Chardonnay that effortlessly balances generosity with refinement. Renowned for its limestone rich soils and centuries of winemaking tradition, the village is home to some of the world's most admired white wines. Since 1825, Maison Joseph Faiveley has crafted Burgundies that faithfully reflect the character of their vineyards, combining precision, elegance and a deep respect for terroir.
The 2024 vintage delivered beautifully balanced Chardonnay, with warm days and cool nights preserving freshness while allowing the fruit to achieve excellent ripeness. Sourced from carefully selected vineyards across the Côte d'Or, the wine was matured with restraint in French oak, building texture and complexity while allowing the vineyard character and vibrant fruit to remain the focus.
Pale gold with brilliant green highlights, the bouquet opens with aromas of white peach, ripe pear and lemon curd layered with toasted hazelnut, acacia blossom and a hint of flint. As the wine evolves, subtle notes of brioche and wet stone emerge, adding depth and complexity. The palate is rich yet beautifully poised, combining citrus and stone fruit flavours with creamy texture, bright acidity and a finely etched mineral line. The finish is long, elegant and persistent, leaving lingering notes of roasted nuts, citrus zest and chalky freshness.
Pair with butter poached lobster, seared scallops, roast chicken with morels, turbot in beurre blanc or a creamy mushroom risotto. Delicious on release, this Meursault will continue to gain complexity and harmony with careful cellaring.
