In the cool-climate conditions of Tasmania, Pinot Gris typically shows vibrant acidity, a mineral edge, and a complex array of fruit flavors, making it particularly expressive and layered.
The Gala Estate White Label Pinot Gris offers aromas of pear, apple, and stone fruits like peach and nectarine, along with subtle floral and spice notes. On the palate, it is smooth and balanced, with flavors of ripe pear, green apple, and citrus, intertwined with a creamy texture that gives the wine a more substantial mouthfeel. There’s a refreshing acidity that brings vitality to the wine, complemented by a hint of minerality from the East Coast’s rocky soils. The finish is clean and lingering, with a touch of spice and freshness.
This Pinot Gris stands out due to its balance of fruit intensity and acidity, which makes it a versatile wine to pair with a variety of foods, from seafood and poultry to dishes with creamy or slightly spicy elements.
