Estate tempranillo and grenache, organic and biodynamic. De rigueur hue, a tone up perhaps; this is in a classic but expressive zone. Watermelon, ripe strawberry, musk, a hint of guava, some cinnamon and blood orange. Fresh, textural, buoyant of fruit but dry and crisp in closing, there’s plenty to like here.

Gemtree Luna de Fresa Rosé from McLaren Vale is a bright, juicy, and organically farmed pink wine that’s all about pure fruit expression and easygoing charm. Made predominantly from Tempranillo, with a splash of Shiraz or Grenache depending on the vintage, this is a fresh and dry style that bursts with red fruit, gentle spice, and just the right amount of texture to keep things interesting.
Gemtree Wines is a certified organic and biodynamic estate run by husband-and-wife duo Melissa Brown (viticulturist) and Mike Brown (winemaker), and they’ve made sustainability a cornerstone of everything they do. Luna de Fresa, or "Strawberry Moon," is a nod to the lunar calendar and the natural rhythms that guide their vineyard work.
Fruit is harvested early to retain natural acidity, then gently pressed and fermented cool in stainless steel. There’s no oak, no fluff—just vibrant, clean, minimal-intervention winemaking that keeps the wine crisp, expressive, and alive.
In the glass, it’s pale salmon in colour with aromas of wild strawberry, watermelon, red apple, and a hint of rose petal. The palate is dry and juicy with fresh-picked berry flavour, a subtle herbal edge, and a refreshing finish that makes it perfect for sunny afternoons, picnics, or lighter meals.
It’s seriously good rosé that doesn’t take itself too seriously—certified organic, vegan friendly, and endlessly drinkable.
