A single-vineyard pinot noir from one of Ghost Rock's most sheltered blocks. Deep, bright ruby with aromas of raspberry, dark cherry and wild strawberry fruits over hints of exotic spice, Chinese barbecue shop, amaro herbs, turned leaf litter, wildflowers and dried game meats. Beautifully ripe dark and red fruits, layered with exotic spice and herbs, fine gypsum-dust tannins and a bright mineral line. The strong '24 vintage is showing its hand here.

95 points Dave Brookes Halliday Wine Companion

Ghost Rock’s La Filles Pinot Noir feels like a natural extension of its wild north coast home, shaped by winds off Bass Strait and the long, slow ripening that Tasmania does so well. The Arnold family, with Justin Arnold at the helm, have built a reputation for wines that capture this coastal edge, and La Filles leans into a more fragrant, finely tuned expression of Pinot Noir, drawn from carefully selected parcels across their estate vineyards.

Lifted aromatics of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry open things up, followed by rose petal, spice and a gentle hint of forest floor. There is a brightness to the fruit that feels almost weightless, yet it carries surprising depth, with fine, silky tannins and a line of acidity that keeps everything precise. A subtle savoury note builds through the finish, giving it that classic Tasmanian tension between fruit purity and earthy complexity.

Drinking beautifully now for its vibrancy and perfume, though it will reward five to eight years in the cellar as those savoury, secondary characters come forward and the wine settles into something more layered.

A great match for duck with cherry glaze, grilled salmon, or a mushroom and herb tart that plays into its earthy side. It suits dishes that are elegant and quietly complex, much like the wine itself.
