Very pleasing, delicate bouquet yet this is a wine with a tensile strength on the palate that belies the initial delicacy. A raspberry touch to the fruit. All about the finesse and the persistence. Few Australian winemakers have earned the respect of Burgundy quite like Jane Eyre. As the first Australian recipient of the Négociant of the Year award from La Revue du Vin de France, she has established herself among the region's finest producers through meticulous vineyard selection and an unwavering commitment to expressing terroir. Les Corbeaux, one of Gevrey-Chambertin's most celebrated Premier Cru vineyards, is renowned for producing Pinot Noir of power, finesse and remarkable longevity.

The 2024 vintage delivered beautifully balanced fruit, with ideal growing conditions preserving freshness while allowing exceptional flavour concentration. Sourced from the limestone and clay soils of Les Corbeaux, the wine was crafted with a gentle hand, allowing the vineyard's distinctive structure, mineral character and purity of fruit to shine.

Deep ruby with youthful purple highlights, the bouquet is captivatingly layered with wild blackberry, black cherry and dark raspberry, intertwined with violets, crushed rose petals and exotic spice. As the wine unfolds, notes of forest floor, fine cedar and graphite emerge, adding depth and complexity. The palate is both powerful and effortlessly refined, revealing beautifully concentrated dark berry fruit framed by silky tannins, vibrant acidity and a finely etched mineral backbone. Long, seamless and exceptionally poised, the finish lingers with savoury spice, floral perfume and the unmistakable pedigree of a great Premier Cru.

Magnificent with roast duck, venison loin, pigeon, mushroom pithivier or aged Époisses. While already captivating with careful decanting, this outstanding Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru has the structure and balance to reward patient cellaring for many years.
