From the sunlit slopes of Alsace comes a Pinot Blanc that reflects both regional charm and family tradition. Joseph Cattin is one of the region’s historic estates, with roots stretching back to 1720 in the village of Voegtlinshoffen. Over the centuries the Cattin family has grown into one of Alsace’s best known producers, combining traditional vineyard practices with modern precision. The vineyards sit along the foothills of the Vosges Mountains where rain shadow conditions, limestone rich soils and abundant sunshine create ideal conditions for aromatic white varieties.
Pale straw with bright green reflections, the aromatics are fresh and gently perfumed. Green apple, pear and white peach rise from the glass, joined by delicate floral notes and a subtle almond nuance. There is a clean, mineral lift that reflects the region’s limestone influenced soils.
On the palate it is dry, medium bodied and beautifully balanced. Orchard fruit and citrus glide across lively natural acidity, creating a wine that feels both refreshing and softly textured. A faint hint of spice and almond carries through the mid palate, finishing crisp and clean with lingering notes of pear skin and lemon zest. It is an approachable yet classic expression of Alsace Pinot Blanc.
Pair with seafood platters, grilled river fish, chicken with herbs, quiche Lorraine or soft cheeses. Best enjoyed over the next three to five years to capture its freshness and delicate aromatics.
