Jurij Fiore is one of the more intriguing names in contemporary Chianti Classico. The son of renowned winemaker Vittorio Fiore, Jurij has built his own reputation for expressive, small production wines that capture the personality of Tuscany's vineyards. Working under the Jurij Fiore e Figlia label, he brings a thoughtful, individual approach to Sangiovese, with Sonocosì showing the variety's wonderfully fragrant side.

From the hills of Chianti Classico, the 2024 celebrates Sangiovese's natural freshness and savoury character. Rather than chasing excessive richness, the emphasis is on lively fruit, supple texture and the earthy complexity that makes these Tuscan reds so appealing.

Bright ruby red with youthful crimson highlights. Sour cherry, wild raspberry and red plum mingle with violet, dried sage and a hint of orange peel. The palate is energetic and beautifully balanced, with juicy red fruit, refreshing acidity and fine, gently grippy tannins. Notes of tobacco, crushed herbs and earthy spice linger through a fragrant, savoury finish.

Try it with porcini and ricotta ravioli, grilled tuna with capers and tomatoes, or Tuscan white bean stew with cavolo nero and rosemary. A little time in the decanter will help the wine open beautifully.
