The Rivetti family transformed La Spinetta from a small Moscato producer into one of Italy's most celebrated wineries, with Giorgio Rivetti becoming one of Piedmont's most influential figures along the way. Known for meticulous vineyard work and uncompromising quality, the estate has played a major role in introducing a new generation of wine lovers to the beauty and complexity of Nebbiolo.
Sourced from carefully selected vineyards across the Langhe hills, this Nebbiolo captures much of the perfume and character of Barolo while offering a more approachable and youthful expression of the variety. The calcareous soils and cool evenings of Piedmont allow Nebbiolo to develop its signature aromatics while retaining freshness and elegance.
The colour is a brilliant ruby red with garnet hues beginning to emerge at the rim. Aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry and rose petals rise from the glass alongside hints of orange peel, anise and sweet spice. The palate is vibrant and finely structured, combining juicy red fruits with silky tannins and bright acidity. Notes of dried herbs and earthy complexity emerge with air, while the finish remains savoury, fragrant and unmistakably Nebbiolo.
A natural companion for mushroom risotto, pappardelle with slow cooked duck ragù, wood roasted pork loin or grilled eggplant with parmesan and herbs. Delicious in its youth but with enough structure to reward careful cellaring over the next six to eight years.
