La Spinetta Vermentino is an energetic and sun-drenched white wine that offers a distinctly Italian take on this Mediterranean grape. While La Spinetta is best known for its Barbaresco and Barolo, their Vermentino comes from vineyards along the Tuscan coast near the town of Castagneto Carducci in the Maremma, rather than Piedmont — an ideal location for growing this variety thanks to its warm climate, coastal breezes and sandy soils.
Made by the Rivetti family, the wine is crafted to highlight freshness and minerality. The grapes are harvested early in the day to preserve natural acidity, fermented in stainless steel, and bottled young to retain vibrancy and varietal clarity.
Aromatically bright and inviting, it offers lemon peel, white peach, grapefruit and wild herbs with a saline edge that hints at the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea. The palate is crisp and lively, full of citrus and orchard fruit, a touch of almond skin and a dry, mineral finish.
It’s a natural match for seafood linguine, grilled prawns, fresh burrata with herbs or simply on its own on a warm day.
